Our Classes

Kali/Krabi Classes

Kali/Krabi classes are a combination of Pekiti-Tirsia Kali and Krabi-Krabong. Each system provides a different perspective on edge weapons combat. Training in these systems provides the practitioner with greater environmental awareness, hand eye coordination, practical empty hand applications, and weapons training with traditional and improvised weapons. The focus is on practical self-defense and combatives, rather than sport fighting. However, all applications can be further reinforced and practiced in traditional Muay Thai and MMA sparring rule sets. This gives the student the ability to differentiate between realistic fighting and sport fighting, while providing opportunities to test their timing and distancing in the safety of a typical Muay Thai or MMA sparring environment.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu - WAR Classes

(Weapons Access and Retention)

The focus of this class is to develop a “game” of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) where the practitioner opens up opportunities to deploy/access their weapon while simultaneously preventing his opponent from drawing their weapon by attacking and sweeping their opponent. While this game can be played with trainer weapons, it is designed to be drilled/trained unarmed in a standard GI, or No-GI sparring format in BJJ within the conventional IBJJF rule set. This gives the practitioner the freedom to experiment with different BJJ partners in various formats (Gi, No-GI, MMA) while maintaining the principles of the game and BJJ i.e. position before submission. This series have been heavily influenced by the Dog Brothers Gatherings based on techniques shown to be effective at the highest adrenaline state.
